I really goofed when I went to check the 5v output. I really paid attention when I was placing the components and soldering them in place. I hooked the red wire into the plus on tb6 and the black wire into the neg. Everything was fine up to that point...

Next I hooked the red wire up to the post closest to me and the black wire up to the post away from me. I wasn't thinking. I was looking for the 5vdc and then I started to smell that funny smell. I didn't see any smoke. I quickly pulled the wire off of the battery. Then I realized what had happed. When I hooked up the wires to the battery correctly, I still didn't see my 5 v

I am sure that this is not the first time that has happened. My question is what components need to be replaced. any help will be appreciated.
