| i will appricate any help on these topics as i am really very new to this. i gut a 4axis hobby cnc board and the 200oz motors. i use turbocnc (settings are supposed to be opitimal regarding to a file a gut from yahoo group) at max of 10khz. when i jog the motor accelerate and run very fast as well as the axis itself then it just make a sound as if it was still running but the shaft is still. i think it losess steps. when i lower the max speed to 3khz it works fine. i dont understand why the axis moves for a while then stops like that. another question if i runing the x axis with a belt for example, and the y axis directly, how can i tell turbocnc about the ratio that each axis travel ? and how can i set certain limits for the software so it does not exceed it sorry for many questions. thanks for your time |

Setup each axis in the setup menu, don't forget to save the new configuration each time you change it. I'm speaking of turbocnc here.... There are detailed instructions on this elsewhere here. The stepper running and then stopping and missing steps sounds like acceleration to high, and possibly some binding, you'll have to chase that one down with time, and patience. Tedious, perhaps but necessary. Good Luck...others can help much better than I..... |

No settings are optimal for all machines. It sounds like you're motors are not strong enough for the faster speed. It could be binding as was already mentioned. As far as I know, TCNC doen't have a software limit function.
