Hi,
I'm hoping someone could give me a helping hand dialing in my machine.
First let me say that I'm new to CNC and some of the terminology/tools so please bear with me.
I have a Fireball V90 with a Gecko G540 and I'm using EMC2.
I attached a vice to the end of the table and my dial indicator is clamped in the vice(I don't have a base yet) so the plunger touches the Z axis. I set the home position for X at the front of the table. I then jog X in the positive direction until the dial reads 0. I then record the value for example 13.9849" and send X home. If I then enter G0 X13.9849 it should move to that position and the dial should read 0. But it is actually .002"(two marks) shy of 0. If I then enter G0 X14.4849 (plus .5") it reads .001" shy. If I then plug the G0 X13.9849 back in it's now .002" above 0.
Hopefully this makes sense to someone.
So how do I find out if this is hardware or software related?
Could someone recommend a better calibration method?
Thanks for any advice I greatly appreciate it.
