    Limit switch issues!! Help Please!!

    I am having an issue with my limit switches showing a connection all of the time. I isolated it to the board. When I measure on the terminal (with no wires connected) from ground terminal to 15 the limit switches, I get either 6.8k or 3.3k with wires connect. It is the same across all of the terminals too. Ground to 15,14,13,12, ect.... I thought there should be no connection between them but I don't know.

    I just need anyone with a board to measure the resistance across the ground to 15, 14, 13, 12, and tell me what if any resistance you have. If you are running a NC circuit you will have to unplug on of the wires. I really need to know this soon. I don't get much time to work on the cnc and I can't do anything else till I figure this out.

    Thanks for you help!!

    I am going to check on the software side to see if it is it.

    Anyone?

    I just need someone to meter your board so I know if there is something wrong with my board. This will take less than 2 minutes.

    I doubt that there is a problem with the board that would cause this as the inputs are just about straight through to the parallel port. Check that the resistor network (RN5) is installed correctly. The white dot on the side should be towards TB6 (power connector).

    As far as doing a quick resistance check...not so easy or quick on my set-up.

    However, I set-up the two switches (NC) per axis wired in series with one side to the ground and the other to either pin 11,12, and 13. Pin 15 is wired to the zero setter. Also I have a .01uF capacitor on pins 11,12,&13 to ground.

    You didn't state which post proccessor you are using but if by chance Mach3 here is the set-up that works for me:

    XYZ Enabled checked,
    X++ & X-- port1, pin 11, Active Low X, Emulated X.
    Y++ & Y-- port 1 pin 12, X, X.
    Z++ & Z-- port 1 pin 13, X, X.

    Also check the debouce setting in the General Config set-up screen, set it to a higher number, mine is 700.

    Hope that this helps a little,
    Fatboy
