Question to builders of HobbyCNC board

I've been debating on which control board to get and from where?

My major question is home and limit switches on the HobbyCNC configurations Do I need to get the four axis board to use the forth axis to set my home and limit switches or are there connections on the 3 axis board already.

My budget is tight and I would like to finish my machine before the end of Spring.


I'm a complete newbie when it comes to CNC so any help on this would greatly be appreciated.

The hobbycnc board does not handle limit switches it's only a driver board for your stepper motors. All that is handles through your NC controller like Mach1, deskcnc etc that get all wired to your parallel port.

We have "on board" provision for 5 switch functions that are pulled up with a 10K resistor. The builder decides which pin is which and what the real function is. They are simply labeled with the correct DB25 pin, NOT associated with limit or homing or anything else.
