I have a working, older style, "Econo Board". For those of you that have seen them, this is the one with the very large resistors on the board. It currently is driving three, 80oz steppers and works fine. I'd like to drive some larger motors that I picked up but the label says that they pull 4 amps and the board is only good for 3 amps. I thought that, if I used some additional resistors that brought the circuit resistance to the same as the 80oz motors, these motors should draw the same as the 80oz motors albeit giving me less torque that the motor spec. Anyone see any problem with doing this? Thanks for your input. Alex |
