We have a Makino FNC-74.It seems as if the ball screw may be worn,I'll explain.we placed a dial indicator below Z axis. When operating "Z" slowly ,
there is no differance from one time to the next,it is dead on everytime.
But when the feed is increased,we then have drift of .012 to .015 . The
readout does not change with this movement of .012/.015.
I was told that the ball nut could be worn. Causing the ball screw to settle
after it reaches its position. Is this true? If this is true is there a way to confirm this? Thanks
If your ballscrew/ballnut was that worn it would be making a lot of noise, Check the connection between the motor & the screw & see if nothing is moving/loose
