This is not related to CNC but I would like to use the knowledge base from this forum for help. Problem/task needed: Need to be able to extend an antenna 30 feet upright from the back hitch of a van. I am required to measure radio reading from various area's across the state. Right now I use a manuel telescoping pole to extend an antenna to the required 30 foot height. It would be great to automate this process. I was thinking of a lightweight telescoping air cylinder to extend the antenna but haven't been able to locate such a cylinder. The antenna is very lightweight and the cylinder would only need to support itself, with light wind considerations. Questions: Does anyone know of a source for the required cylinder??? Is there a better/different solution to acheive the objective? |
