Sorry if this isn't the best place to put this thread but I couldn't decide. Does anyone here ever paint anything with cnc? If so how do you do it?

Your best bet is a robot (5+ axis).
I worked at a place that built tractor trailer suspensions back in the 90's, we had a paint booth with 4 fanuc controlled robots (painters), those same model robots we used on the shop floor for mig welding. Very easy to program.
Here is a robot on ebay similar to what we used. You can find the robots very cheap, just not sure about the control, etc...

Several years ago, I took a training class for G.M. Fanuc robots. The engineer beside me was from Boeing and working on a huge robot for painting. G.M.F. had worked up special software to keep the gun orthogonal to the surface and allow defined overlap for a uniform coating. Exciting stuff.
My project was just pick up 25 parts at a time and move them to a tray. I kept quiet.
Anyway, I'm sure today's robots all have painting subroutines.
