Hey Guys, My machine is now sitting idle (haas vf2). No work. I have been racking my brain for a cool project. I built a steam engine and have been building a bunch of tooling for my shop. Anyone have any cool ideas for a project?

How elaborate do you want it.

What about a :
gas turbine,
colt 1911,
homemade nuclear fusion reactor,
Vacuum table for the mill,
more engines,
A widget/dust collector for your girl.


List could go on for pages, have been thinking about making my own personalised set of dog tags in titanium.

I thought about the 1911 as I have a few colts but that just seems like too daunting of a task.

I am a beginner, and I do not know what kinds of things your machine can do. But I can ask creative questions to help you jump-start your own ideas.

Is your machine suited for 2-D work on flat surfaces?
What kinds of materials?
What is the most accurate cut you can make with that machine?

Could your machine modify or resurface an existing object in 3 dimensions?
Can you machine a rotating cylindrical work surface?
Can you draw patterns with a diamond scribe on a crystal egg shaped object?

Can different tools be handled by the moving head on your machine?
Resin pumps? Glue pumps? Air brush painting heads? Heat guns? Diamond bits? Air hammers? Cutting wheels?
