    Anyone ever machined a swashplate?

I wanted to make a swashplate and it seem like everyone is buying a certain type of bearing for making them. I doubt anyone makes the bearing for them also, anyone know what type of bearing they are using and where to get them.

Also looking for a place to find some gears but I may just use existing gears from another chopper.

    Thanks

Their just a normal bearing nothing special, you should be ale to get them at bocabearing. I plan I'm making my own swashplate soon.

Are you sure, all the ones I've seen have a sphere in the middle so it can spin and rotate... might want to look closer.

The center is a ball, the upper part is machined to accept that ball, the upper part in sleeved into the bearing. That ball in the center is not ment to spin, it's ment to rotate and slide up and down the shaft. The inner race spins and the outter part is stantionary.

Right, so it isn't a special bearing they are just placing the ball inside the inner race of the bearing? Seem more complicated then it sounds. Wish I had an exploded view of one or something. Thanks

These look allow shafts to have some misalignment within some tollerance...why the unusual name?
