Hello to all members! I am new at the forum and this is my first thread! ![]() My name is Carlos and i live in Portugal! I work with silicone molds and polyurethane casting resins, and i am trying to build a small plastic injection machine not for just a hobby but really to combine both works for a profitable business. unfortunitely i dont have much knowledge about plastic injection molding, so i am having some troubles to find the correct sizes for doing a machine for shooting small parts like 50 or 100grams, i am not sure wich sizes should have the thermo barrel and screw or even the proper heat system around the barrel and correct temperatures for different plastics. I have already made some experiments, but i am still far away from having it done. I have the basics needed to build a machine, i bought the Gingery´s book last year but i founded that i already knew most of all that came in the book and the his machine is bery basic as it uses only a piston in the heated barrel instead a screw that i believe is more practical to mix the pellets, special if they are translucid and high density I am good to built anything in metal i got all the tools for to drill and weld, so what i need is a good plan to help me save time and money, and this is why i thought of opening this thread and hoping so of you guys could help me by giving some tips like sketches, photos, etc. i would be a lot thankful for any help from you guys thanks in advance for you time! | 50-100g is not a small part at all, there are many small injection machine on the market that may serve your need, looking for a screw barrel size of 28~32mm diameter. I planned to make an injection machine myself also, and the part I am going to make weights about 1g only, which screw application seems impossible....I am still figuring.. In the old days, injection machine do not have screw but only piston. |
