beginner stuff.... what do you call the bits/cutter that is a wide flat bottom spinning cutter..???? the ones that you see in the machining videos, that come in from the side and take
a light pass on the metal..??

thats not the one I meant.. The one I see is flat bottom, not
like a butterfly shape.. like a black flat bottom cylinder..

Is the one you describe is similar to the centre item in picture ?

It would be an end mill.
