| Hi there I have done a 3D model of the above for my 'pit I am building at home (tried making it out of wood but the results aren't great). I was wondering if anyone could provide any tips for getting it made please? Pics are up at Flickr http://flickr.com/photos/glyndavies/1297000380/ (Dimensions of the part are 8" square - there are another 2 parts of the MFD which I am working on, they are much simpler however...) I don't have thousands or even hundreds of Pounds/Dollars to spend on this project, so does anybody have any suggestions as to how can I get this done for a low cost please? Many thanks in advance |

| laser cut from 1/8" baltic birch, and then stack/laminate it up. I can think of no simpler way to get the square holes, unless you want to make a mold and pour it. Better yet, 1/8" plexi cuts like butter on my laser, laminates with CA or epoxy, and you could then paint and back-light it just like real avionics components. An engraving shop would probably charge you less than $20 if you provide the materials and dwg's /Corel Draw Files. Cheers, Rob |
