Hi yarko,

I have this idea (illusion ??) of building an EDM machine by combining the techniques of CNC and subsequently, the concepts of RP such as the Reprap. The target work pieces will be hard metal.
I thought it would be a good idea to thoroughly study a few working plans and descriptions on screen before getting down to work.

I tried to download your files but I cannot open them once downloaded, since they have names like ”1166285960” with the extension as just “file”, the size around 60 KB.
My OS is Windows XP. What could be the reason?

Your kind advice on this problem is much appreciated.

Hello,

The attached drawings are multipage Tiff files, I have chosen this because most computers come with a viewer you never need to download.

Here is one program you can also use to open the drawings:
www.tiffviewer.com/dl-bravareader.asp


You can also make tiff files with Xnview.

You have to be logged into the board. Right click the link and select open in a new tab if using such a browser. Otherwise just click the link and let your embedded downloader take over. The links here are to php pages on the board which contain the download links to the zip files.

Many thanks for your responses. I have just discoverd that the problem was with a shareware Download Accellarator I was using on trial. Once that was inactivated, the problem was over.

It's good people are benefiting from these plans.

One improvement over this machine would be to use something like in the picture. Linear bearings are really expensive and often get clogged.
