If you have a 3D cad program you can download a model of the frame from http://www.cncgunsmithing.com/
I just purchased a 60% 1911 frame from DIYGuns.com. I also got a cd rom on how to complete an 80% build. Also got a rail cutter. However after reviewing the cd rom and searched forever on the net, I am trying to figure out where all the holes have to be drilled. How is this usually done. I have a milling machine and all nessacary shop equipt. Is there a jig or a template for the Holes? I know they have one for the rails but I do not need that one. Is there maybe a stick on template or something like that? Thanks for your help.
there is no standardisation of the hole placements, i downloaded three different blueprints and i get three different xy co-ordinates for x-y hole placement,
do i listen to one, get blueprints from the patent office, or do a best of three tactic?
I know this is an old thread but.. I have a set of redrawn prints almost complete over at ar15.com
Not 56k Friendly and there is a link to my flickr sets
If you have and don't use it, you still have it.
