Fireball V90 Must know

First time user of CNC machine and already got a Fireball V90 from probotix.com.I thought i purchased all things needed for CNC machining. I found out that i don't have a spindle motor. I would like to ask experts here, which motor should i use? or is it better to use laser/plasma rather than motors? I also read that there are water cooled spindle motors is it great? By the way my purpose of this machine was cutting CF sheets, balsa wood and lexan plastics.

My V90 was supplied with a spindle holder for a Dremel 300.

Recommendation:

1. Buy Dremel 300
2. Use Dremel 300 to make spindle holder for something else (I use Proxxon LB/E)
3. Throw Dremel 300 away

I do light work in wood, I find the Proxxon is great for my needs. Other users do heavier work and prefer routers. You'll find a variety of alternative spindles and mounts on the Probotix site.

Buy me a Beer?

The V90 was designed as a perfect fit for a Bosch Colt trim router. The majority of users (me included) use this for the spindle. Note there are two versions, get the one with variable speed.

ROFL, can you give me the format or gcode of various spindle holder? Im a newbie on cnc and dont knowwhere to start. should i go first learning an autocad?
Another question the v90 is an auto volt? which means i can plug directly from the socket 110-240 volts? I cannot understand about power supplies description. I got a ready to run package which means its a 40V upgraded. My understanding was the power supply out put was 40 volts. Now question is about the input. Is it auto volt? 110v-240v

The 40V transformer is supplied as 110V by standard. It is capable of supporting 240V, you need to cut and isolate one wire. That is well described in the transformer documentation, available from the Probotix web site.

I am in Australia, I run my Probotix controller on 240V.

I can send you the GCode for my holder, but it might not work as well as you expect. The run-out on the Dremels was so bad that I had to experiment with the actual vs theoretical cut sizes, and adjust the offsets accordingly.

I use VCarve Pro (Vectric - CNC Software Solutions - Wood Carving - Engraving - Signmaking - Routing - Machining) for my design and GCode generation, I'll happily share the mount design if you go down that path. It isn't the prettiest holder, but it has worked accurately and reliably since I made it out of MDF.

Take a look at this URL:
CNC Downloads
Under the "Other" heading you'll see a link labelled:
"How To Rewire 40VDC Linear Power Supply for 240VAC Input "
Follow the instructions

Send me a private message with your email address and I'll send the mount files. They're designed for 16mm MDF, cut with a 3.175" end mill.

Lesson learned. And i want probotix.com to know that their guide posted here:
http://probotix.com/downloads/240VAC_power_supply.pdf

Is NOT UPDATED. The guide shows 8 wires consist of black, orange, red, yellow, brown, blue, grey and violet.

Without noticing mine i just cut the grey and violet strip them together and soldered them. Then kaboom. I found out that i got only 6 wires.

Now i wanted probotix.com that UPDATE every guides posted and indicate if the guide was for old version of product so it prevents happening like this.
