Hi guys,
I've been reading a lot about the different design available and I'm getting overwhelmed.
What I want is a machine that can cut at least 3/4" MDF, as well as various types of plastic, relatively accurately (.001" if possible). I'd also really like it to be able to cut maybe 1/4" or 1/8" aluminum but its not a deal breaker. I also don't need this to be huge, so I'm picturing a 2'x2' cutting area, and maybe 5" z-axis.
What I have is a small area to work and not a lot of tools. However, I do have a friend that runs a sign shop and they have an industrial CNC there that can cut MDF. I was hoping to find a plan that provided a cut sheet, so that I could get the materials cut in one go.
As this is my first CNC, I don't want to go crazy with the budget. I'm hoping to build this one to be good enough to help me build a better one.
Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
