Direct Tapping on VK45
Hi,
i' have a problem with my VK45 with seicos control.
I've to do a direct tapping with G841 code, and it's work fine, but sometimes
when a tapping is finished the machine doesn't go to the next hole.
When it happens i see on frequol's display a number of 1 / 2 instead of 0 ( i think that the machine wait the spindle stop signal before move to the next hole )
There is a parameter to decrease sensitivity of the frequol, or a parameter to bypass this error on seicos control?
Thank you

Re: Direct Tapping on VK45
Assuming it is a Seicos III with an FR-SF Freqrol - there is a method to adjust the direct tap drive built into the machine.
Make this quick program:
G21;
G91 G28 Z0;
S2000;
G841 S2000 F2000 Z-200. L10;
G80;
G20;
M30;
Run the program in single block. When you get to the G841 line - Press FR/BK -> Press F4(SYSTEM) -> Select 2.DIAGNOSE -> Select 3.RELEVANT TO SERVO
and check the spindle droop amount.
Is it zero ? (Number 01 - value under S)
Let me know

Thank you John
No.. the value oscillates between -105 and -126 ( when the spindle is stopped )

Re: Direct Tapping on VK45
Best is 0, good is +/- 15, and anything more is not good. Hold the AUX button and press H - this will take you to the Servo Adjust Screen. Adjust the loop gain at the bottom, press return and repeat the steps from before and get it as close to 0 as possible

Re: Direct Tapping on VK45
I changed the value from 60 to 250 , and in diagnosis screen i read a medium value of -15, but is normal such a big difference in the values that I changed?

It is ok - as the drives get older they need tuning up. Try that out now and see if your program stops
