Default Hitachi Seiki Z-Axis ITZ Input Off, Z-axis will not move

    Hi All,

I am new to CNC machines and apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.

We have a Hitachi Seiki VA-40, Fanuc 6M Model B CNC.The Z-axis will not move due to the ITZ bit being off. The tooling arm is upand in the straight position. On the electrical prints, the ITZ input is a NOcontact labeled U056. But nowhere does it show on the prints the coil forU056 and we can't locate a relay in the panel labeled U056. What exactly isU056 and where does it come from?

What could cause the interlock bit for Z-axis tostay off? We have no alarm messages onthe display.

We have been banging our heads against the wall tying to figure out why this ITZ bit is off. I don't know what event occurred when the CNC went down. All get told is that it was working fin one day and then the next it wasn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Mark
