    DC motor voltage

I have a HNC Hardinge that I want to retrofit. How can I find out what the motor voltage is. They have only two wires going into them,
    Thanks

A simple but fairly accurate test is to back feed them with a known rpm, measure the DC output from the two armature wires.
Many older DC servo's, especially the larger sizes were limited to 2000~2500 rpm.
So extrapolate the DC required for those rpm from the results of the test.
Alternatively you could feed them with a couple of automotive batteries in series and measure the voltage and RPM and calculate the same way.
