I just purchased a Hardinge CHNC I lathe and tried to start it up without a manual. I have a manual now and found out that I pushed the home button a couple of times before I was supposed to. There is a error code stating that there was -X axis over travel. Anyway, the slide won't jog at all now. Can someone tell me how to get it going again. Thanks. | I got the machine to jog. I had to turn the X axis ball screw by hand in the "+" direction and then it worked. However, when I went through the homing process, the Z axis was fine but the X axis doesn't come close to the dimension that the book calls out before it bottoms out in the X+ direction. The centerline of the turret is supposed to be 3" from the centerline of the spindle, but it is roughly 1/2 to 3/4" short. It doesn't look like it will ever get to that dimension. Now, when I try to home the X axis, it bottoms out and gives me a X axis overtravel fault. Can anyone help?? |

| I don't know if it's too late to help you, but if your machine has the Fanuc 0T control, try pressing (and holding down) the JQP button and the Cancel button at the same time while powering up the control. Once it's powered up, try homing the machine again. If that doesn't work, post up here again, and I'll give you some more things to try. |
