Some models of a hardinge toolroom lathe had the s/n stamped on the headstock casting. This would be on the flat on the top of the headstock on the back left fromm the front of the machine.it would be above the casting/block that is pinned to the headstock casting for the drawbar linkage, and if its not there then I don't think its a hlvh....... Unless its a splitbed then that's too old for me! Hope this helps at all!
