I hear ya....It seems it is really hard to talk about the high end of our world for any length of time.
I used to watch this forum regularly...but this site has so friggen many forums that I forgot this one was here until the other day

Alot of the threads seem to get hijacked by frequency testing and impact tests. While this is probably good stuff it puts the kibosh on some regular joes talking about there own experience and swapping ideas.
mike
I agree who cares about frequency testing I want to discuss real world machining with people that do it.
Joe
The problem as you said is the hijacking... In fact, HSM is talked about with some regularity on this site. But it usually starts out as another topic in a Yada Yada forum and then dives into it from there. Even direct HSM questions are started in other forums based on controls, machines, etc....
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
I try to reduce the frequency of impact tests when machining
There are so many forums here that you have to dig, as there is some interesting topics in unusual places
High speed machining has been around since the 1930's. the link below is to the site that has quite a bit of information about it. Also watch my video on youtube, I think you will find it to be interesting. The link to it is also below.
