The tech told me that I have to call Haas every month to get a code to unlock the machine.

I must look into the parameters to get a code, call Haas, give them the code and they send me back a new code and must enter it in the machine.

    Anybody ever heard of this.

If you use haas financeing that is how they make sure you pay for the machine, ie NO pay NO play.

Mine was locked like that and I about **** my pants when the machine came up with a msg . the code or what ever they put in the machine was like that and never got swapped by the company I bought it from, only took 5 seconds to get it taken care of .

I think your technician is dreaming. Unless things have changed, Haas machines have an eight hundred hour time alarm that will shut the machine down. If the machine has been purchased you can get a single code to cancel this alarm for all time (or until you need the controller software reloaded). If the machine is leased then I think the time is shorter and you need to get the code regularly.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

He told me that the 800 hours does not exist anymore, this have been replaced by this new method, like previous poster said, no pay, no play.
If you payment is due every month, they are sure you will pay or ...

Mine has no financing from Haas so hope this will be a one time shot for the code.
