01' mini mill, communications 7,1,even and DC codes. Using Cimco as dnc program. I can hit send from my pc, and the program would "wait" until I hit dnc on the control.
Trying to do that now on a 08' vf2 and I keep getting a buffer overflow. It will send and receive the data, just gets too much and alarms after about 5 seconds with a buffer overflow.
BTW, DC codes is GREAT for me. You have two choices:
Get the control "waiting for dnc" and then walk over to your pc and hit send.
OR
Hit send from your pc, and then at you leisure hit receive on the control. No need to get the control listening first, like with xon/xoff or xmodem. Don't you hate hitting send from your pc and then walking over to the machine and realize it wasn't waiting!
nobody?
We get that problem intermittantly but haven't really taken the time to troubleshoot it...I'd be interested in any insight too (lol)
Edit: Using Surfcam DNC btw

Ydna, so you guys have some success with DC codes?
I use OneCNC DNC program (it is free) to a VF-0, It send the code and stops when the buffers are filled. I hit the green button on the CNC and everything flows from there. running 19.2baud 7 bit 1stop Even parity through a good 100 ft cable. Works great. I hit list programs, then recieve, comes up "waiting" on screen walk to DNC computer send the code and walk back. only a few actual feet.
