    p-cool probelms

I been having a heck of a time with the p-cool plugging up, its been driving me up a wall, I have 20 .032 holes to drill in one part and keep snapping drillbits cause its clogs up.

I too a small allen wrench and shoved it in the tip cause air wouldnt fix it, it was plugged bad. so I took tip off. Whose bright Idea was it to put a bent up paper clip in there? thats why it plugs up or shoots sideways half the time not even coming close to a 1/8 drill bit let alone a 1/32 drill bit. seems I always have to bend the bracket ever so slightly to get the stream BAck on center.

does anyone know why they stick a bent up paperclip( small wire)in the nozzle? cause when its out I have NO problems now that I rebent the bracket its always on center.

Besides the paper clip I think its time for a filter that some of you guys have posted in the past. I can only imagine what the fines are doing to the impeller and the case of the pump.

The filter goes after the pump so it does nothing to protect the pump, not that you need worry about that because the running clearance in the pump is large enough that chips small enough to get through the gate filter between the tank and the pump chamber are small enough to pass through the pump. (I think that is a record for length of sentence.)

    Geof,

right now the fines are getting finer by going back through the pump a second and third and forth time. filter them out would get most of them out the first time so they couldnt recirulate correct?

    How fine are your fines?

The filters we used to use would take out all the fines down to about 15 microns; but notice I say used to use. I was up at the shop the other day and discovered that the filter cartridge we had used was no longer available and so most of the machines have been switched over to a smaller filter with a re-usable stainless mesh cartridge that is someting like 100 microns, or larger, so now our fines get recirculated. But so long as they do not clog the nozzles that is no problem.

fine like about .0005-.001 thick and .1 long, looked like a ball of cotton. coolant still shot through but very low pressure.
also they do float on the surface of the coolant tank when its running, I occasionally let my kids use a fish net to get them out. LOL

My neighbor owns a pool building company he has tons of filtration systems laying in his shop. I might go and snag one.
