4th axis VF-3

i have a VF-3 that is pre wired for fourth axis output etc... what all is needed to add the 4th axis?

Yes, and rotating the workpiece right into the spinning tool you neglected to lift high enough.

Yep and don't forget about that coolant nozzle thingy clearing the 4th instead of hitting. 4th axis is fun stuff yet I am not sure about the passion part.
