    Incremental drill pgm.

    Hey all,

I have a favor to ask of someone. I need a incremental drill program for a .079 drill going 1.625 deep and 2.100 deep. I plan on adding them as a local sub routine. First peck at 8x dia. second peck at 4x and the rest at 1x. I work for a shop that has FeatureCAM but for some reason it won't support the incremental cycle.

    Thanks in advance
    John

OK, first off, I'm no macro guy. This is probably way longer than it needs to be. Maybe wait until one of those guys chime in? This will work if you can't wait.

I know what you mean. I briefly looked at the macro for the VQC probe. I stopped when my eyes started bleeding. (There was sobbing involved too but it's not important).

I came across these videos earlier in the week. These aren't incremental but pretty impressive:

Please explain. This looks like if I could get the hang of it. That it would be very useful. Do you use it in place of the regular canned cycle or make it a local sub?

In this case, it's the whole program. You could easily make it just one tool call from N7 to the M30 (replace the M30 with M01) or it could be a sub. Your choice.
The way I get these things is to follow the program down until it gets to a variable, then reading in the notes what that variable is. I always put what the variable is in parenthesis- some don't but I like others to be able to follow along. And me too because after a short time I'm onto other things and I've completely forgotten my train of thought.
