| Haas vs. Mazatrol 640 Programming Hi, new to this forum and I have a question. Is the coded program the same between these 2 machines? I have Surfcam 2002 where I work and I didn't want to have to change the post processor or have to add another one. Any and all help would be very much appreciated. Thanks and great forum. |

| Your best bet and most of all the safest way is to create anothe post for the 640M. Haas and Mazak (as well as just about any other machine tool) has some different steps in operation, G codes, M codes and etc. Surfcam should have a basic post for a Mazak. Check your CD or call your dealer for one. You can probably even get from Surfware online. Just log in. You can tweek a Haas post to generate what you need for a Mazak but that might be too much work. Its easier to do it with a basic post from Surfcam. Theres too much difference in a Haas post and Mazak post. You'd be closer with a Fanuc post (but not exact). I have a post for Haas and Mazak for my shop. Sorry though, can't give you one, I'm not using Surfcam. |
