Hello, Has anyone purchasing a NEW Haas in the last couple years had any paint issues. I know its just a machine, but if you bought a new $80,000 Mercedes wouldn't you be pissed if the paint started bubbling up in 6 months or less. I took delivery of a new VF4 on 2/6/08, by spring the exterior paint was bubbling up in several places. After much dealing with my dealer they replaced the bad panels (not my idea) 8/20/09 My help pointed out to me this morning that one of the new panels paint is now bubbling up. I am getting very dissapointed! Any comments? Jeff |

I am using Hangstefers S-500 coolant. I have a salesman that said Hangstefers would give me 5 gallons to try in a new machine, and he delivers at no charge. I liked the price and product so have stuck with it. I have used this coolant from day one in the VF4. Paint on the inside is not the problem, I would expect that. This is exterior and it is not getting splashed in the problem areas. Shortly after purchasing my VF4 we switched my VF2 (took delivery NEW 12/23/99) over to Hangstefers, no paint issues before or now. These machines face one another with 6ft between them. I am 99.5% certain its not an enviroment problem. The only other product around is the occasional use of some Original Tapmagic. It don't bother the inside paint, or the VF2, or the SL20. Jeff |

I'll second that photos would be good. One more question, Is there any oxidation or rust on the bare metal where the paint is bubbling and coming off??

| same thing on my vf2 2008. I use blaser universal 2000. I have the machine in my garage. It does not have a lot of hrs at all on the machine at all. It really bothers me I have to say. There is no reason the paint should be bubbling on the outside of the machine (on the front of the door). I will post a few pics when I get home. Mark |

| my bubbling paint is on the outside of one of the front doors. no chips or coolant involved. there is some bubbling paint inside in expected areas although on my fadals it never happened because I dont run my machines that often. Like Murphdog said, I know its a machine but the paint should not be bubbling on the outside. |

Attached are some pics of the original sheetmetal, I hope! The NEW sheet metal is starting to look the same. When they replaced the original metal I picked at one of the bad spots and there was some oxidation/rust under the paint. Looked like poor prep work to me. Maybe Haas needs to buy glasses for the help! Jeff |

| Like fourperf & I said, its paint, but! I could have spent $80,000 and bought a Mercedes or some go fast sports car, but instead I bought something that will MAKE money. I expext it to look like $65,000 2 years later, not a peeling, flaking, rust bucket. Just MY opinion. Jeff |

| Hi murphdog Just make sure nobody has sprayed it with anything, or have used a rag to wipe it down with some type of paint thinner etc on it, or something that has had paint stripper put on it, apart from that it looks like a bad under surface prep, It is powder coated so can stand up quite well to most things,
