| I would be very interested to hear how you can increase the speed on a standard minimill from 6000 to 8000. I would say that although it may be possible I would not reccomend it. Most standard Haas machines only go to 7500RPM for a start(VF2 VF4 etc). I am definately not suggesting that you should do it You would probably severely cut the life of the spindle bearings as they are not designed to run at that RPM. you could also damage your spindle drive system too. If anyone does decide to do this I would be interested to know how you are getting on six months after. One more thought.......... Why would Haas not want you to know this? If it was as simple as just changing a couple of parameters then wouldn't Haas just sell them like that? Why would they build a machine that could run at 8000RPM but then limit it to 6000? Only an idiot would do that right? Last edited by Haas__man; 12-22-2009 at 06:14 AM. |

| I think this has been discussed here on this forum in the past and you don't need to pay this guy a dime to find out how to do it. This will cause the spindle to fail and the machine does keep a record of changing these parameters. If you want to pay this guy for this information you will be out the 100 GBP and the cost of a new spindle as it would not be covered under warranty. |
