I currently own only mazaks, but for a machine this size mazaks are very pricey, so I'm looking toward an less expensive machine. they both have: thru coolant tool & part probe 32 x 60 table 40 taper different: haas linear guide ways vs cincinnati box ways?????? haas intuitive programing vs cincinnati g code haas controls vs fanuc controls haas peak 20hp gear box vs cincinniti 20hp continuous haas 40tc vs cincinnati 24tc haas is 23000# vs cincinnati 26500# haas is $40,000 cheaper If you know any thing about these machines or similar machines it will help tremendously. I would love to know about reliability, (since every salesman thinks thier machine is the best). mainly i just need a few educated opinions on these machines through research or experience. thanks for all of your feedback and I hope this can help other companies succeed in buying the right machines for the future. |

| Are your parts large and heavy? Stainless, Titanium, Alloy steel, etc. Go with the box way, High torque/HP spindle. Cincinnati wins this one. Lots of aluminum parts and small run prototype work. Haas will do a great job for the $. It is only my opinion, but if you are looking at the Haas intuitive programing and trying to do what you can do on your mazatrol machines. Think again! The intuitive programming will just help to create g-code programs. It is not a conversational control! The Fanuc is what the Haas is modeled after, with Haas's two cents added in, (and more taken away). I am in no way bashing the Haas. I am quite pleased with mine, and the reliability, and customer service are hard to beat. Especially considering that I too really like Mazak, but their customer service always sucked, parts were rediculously expensive, hard to get, etc. A similarly equiped Mazak VTC to my VF-3 was around $80k higher. Happy shopping, It is good to see people still buying new American Machine Tools!! |
