I have a 99 Haas vF-EXT getting an alarm 166 y zero Ret margin too small. Happens when I do a power up re-start. My fixture offsets are in Y are off almost .5" It says in the manual the limit switch moved or are mis-adjusted. My questions is where is the Y limit switch?? is it on the front or back side of the way covers??? Trying to figure out where is it before I start pulling parts off everywhere! also , anyone know how much a new one costs??? Thanks, Mark |

| The Y Axis limit switch is located under the back cover...A 99 model I believe will have a micro switch instead of a hall sensor..might just be a sticky switch or a chip or a broken wire..or it could be an encoder going south... There is a procedure to set the Zero return margin..varies a bit from year to year..But It is normally only done when replacing a servo or encoder...

| I know this is an older post, but as WMS says "normally only done when replacing a servo or encoder..." If you had replaced either of them, just rotate the motor 90deg with the mounting bolts and you should be fine. In a few cases I have seen you might have to try going up to 180deg, but generally the 90deg rotation will take care of the problem.
