Hey all- so i have had my Haas VF-2 for a few months now and am trying to figure out where to put in for tool wear. I know on the offsets page it has a wear and geometry column. well i've put #'s in those columns and nothing has worked. see my problem is i have a brand new 1/4" end mill. well its cutting .005" big so i need to cheat it down to a .255" end mill. i thought you could just put a -.005" in the wear column and it would do that. I didn't know if you had to post a code in the program in order for it to work or what? i do my programs through bobcad so thats why i'm not sure how to cheat the tool offset. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! -Nate |

| It sounds like your program isn't using cutter compensation at all. Do you know how to hand code a cutter comp move with g41/42? Is your program calling the correct D#? (the Haas has a setting that will allow the tool h# and D# to be different) |
