| The minimum I'd use on a VF-2 is the two-stage Husky that they sell at Home Depot for about $850. That one is kinda' noisy but it's as cheap as you're going to get away with. You should also plan on buying the Harbor Freight refrigerated air dryer to go with it (about $350). So $1200 is entry level. After that, quiet costs money. How much you're willing to spend is how quiet you can have it.

| For quiet you need to go rotary and the lowest cost I know about is a 3hp Chicago Pneumatic at about $3500 without a dryer.

| Noisey isn't a problem. Just build an insulated and vented enclosure. We did for ours. It's got the green insulation on the inside, and has a bathroom vent sucking in Air and an exhaust vent at the other end!
