renishaw probe question

How long do the batteries last?
reason I ask I got a probe error today in a "Z" face part and I saw a new set of lights blue ones,
the things looked like a spaceship has red blue and green light.

once I ran the probe again it worked fine. just not sure on the battery life.
oh yeah what all gets batteries? the tool setter and the tool one or ?

of course battery life is a function of usage

My batts die in about 2 months but the parts I run have a 4 minute probing cycle at the beginning and the probe stays on through the whole thing instead of turning off and on 36 times

I always change them as soon as I see that blue light flicker. They'll last a little longer but my custom cycles dont have all the safety of the factory renishaw macros so Im scared of the thing going dead in the middle of a run.

I can just picture the thing looking for a skip signal that never comes and driving the whole probe body into the router table

I changed my batteries last september and just changed them again last month. I use it fairly frequently, though usually short cycles. I thought it was a reasonable period for use.

I changed them that day, did both just to be on the safe side.

Renishaw sent me a pretty cool pdf file on the probe last week also, I thought we got one with the machine but couldnt find it. Wife said she saw it she probally hid it
