I have a new vf4 with hrt210h rotary table. I set the rotary on the table today and have just been playing with rotating it a bit but I keep getting an alarm message that reads " ALARM A ERROR TO LARGE " What might I be doing wrong? in setup 30 I have it set as hrt210h , is there something else that needs to be set? It keeps faulting under no real load . Another unrelated question I was trying to home just the A axis and somehow I now only have the x axis visible in the position box at the center bottom of the screen, how do I get the all the axis displayed in this box again? Thanks Rich |

| What is the alarm number? Do you have the correct air pressure connected to the HRT, at least 85psi but we run ours on 100psi without problems. Have you tried releasing the brake on the rotary using M11 'Release 4th Axis Brake'? Have you tried turning the main power off and then restarting everything to see if your missing axes reappear? Have you looked at Parameter 15 Y switches? Switch 18 is invisible axis and it should be 0; same for Z.

| alarm number is 106 , states the load on the a axis servo motor is to great and something about parameter 51 Air pressure at the connection for the rotary table is 103 psi I have not tryed m11 but will in a few minutes if I can get the machine to home , keeps faulting . I guess I need to disable the 4th axis in setup so I can home the machine before I can do anything |

| Turn on Setting 53 Jog Without Zero Return this should allow you to move things. Then you may be able to go to MDI put in M11; G91 G00 A-720. and see what happens when you push Cycle Start. Bring up CRNT CMDS so you can see the A servo load. It sounds a bit like the brake could be dragging.

| I hope you had the machine in ESTOP before you connected and enabled the A axis. Do the same if you disconnect it. AFAIK, there is no other way to safely connect the rotary table without the risk of blowing up an amp. Even if you connect the rotary table with the power off, you should still press ESTOP before you power back up, so that you can make the proper selection in setup. I don't know how the others do it. I usually get an A axis overheat alarm as soon as I enable the particular rotary in setup. I assume at this point that the alarm is normal because the machine is in ESTOP, and it interprets the halted axis with a spurious fault message. Release ESTOP and press reset to clear the alarms (probably 3 to be cleared).

| The embarassing thing is to do this and call in the Haas tech. Especially one you are on good terms with because he will never let you forget it.
