I have a 2004 VF3 SS with Pcool, the coolant nozzle has just started getting lost when it goes for a tool change it seems off a couple of positions. I was running a new program so I just kept adjusting it and changing the offsets but I noticed the problem when I ran the same part again and I had to keep adjusting it more to keep the coolant where it is supposed to be. I read some old posts that suggested taking it apart, not hard to talk me into that. They talked about adjusting the Omron switches. It is super clean inside and the switches click and the Ohm meter verifies that they are working. Any Thoughts ? -- Thanks |

Hi, Have a look at this post. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...ighlight=pcool What appeared to happen on my PCOOL is that the micro switch was missing some counts which caused it to incorrectly stop at the desired position. Just checking it a few times with an OHM Meter will probably not give you the same result as the machine in an operational mode. After I replaced the Micro Switch on mine it has worked flawlessly. The company that made the micro switch that was on my unit was out of business. The one that I found in a local electronics store had to be bolted to the board and some small jumper wires attached to get to the board solder connections. The new switch only cost a few dollars. If you would like to talk more about it you can send me an e-mail at clarkj@tampabay.rr.com or call me at 813-426-3481. Good luck! John |

| It is a 20 position Also I have observed 2 new tricks since we last talked The better trick is it is working now, but that still means I cant trust it The other new development is sometimes it gets lost and it just runs to the end of it's stroke. My best guess is that this is the position switch failing and then the end limit switch catching it at the end of travel. It is funny because my business partner thought it was a gadgety option when I ordered the machine, but I don't think I would ever buy a machine without it again, I have really gotten used to not taking coolant showers. Thanks again for the help Reason |
