| Hello I purchased the TM1-P in April 2008. The type of tool holders and collets that you need depends on the type of parts that you are making. I make small parts on my machine so we went with 10 ER25 tool holders from Iscar to start. The Kurt D675 is the largest vice that will fit into this machine without making modifications. If you are making really small parts then get double lock vices. You can increase productivity by machining several parts at the same time. Did you get the chip auger and the Reneshaw probe? These options are really not options for me. I had 0 machining experience when I bought the TM1-P. All I had going for me is lots of computer and CAD experience since I am an Electrical Engineer. | I also like a mix of ER32 and ER16 collet chucks. Get a tightening fixture for the ER32 chucks though, especially if you plan to use carbide endmills. You have to crank them to 60 to 80 ft-lbs to hold carbide endmills well. I also like www.maritool.com, good support both before and after the sale, treats little guys like big guys also. Check out his endmills also. Paul T. |
