hello again everyone... Just wondering what letter engraving options I have without acess to MasterCAM. Is there a way I can program a different lettering style/font without a cam prog? any side progs that I can do this with? Used the search bar on the forum and it was not much help... | If you mean without ANY software (like what djr76 suggested) the only way to have different fonts is to copy the engraving program and edit it. Every letter is a subroutine, my guess is it will be hell editing them manually. |

I didn't mean engraving the whole text with manual g-code. You can manually edit the code for each letter and then use them as always with g47 |

| old thread I know but i thought I would attach this link for folks searching the archives in the future for engraving related topics , this software is free and works wonderfully http://www.deskam.com/deskengrave.html there is another great free program called "wrapper" that will allow you to rotate existing g-code files and wrap them around tubes etc if you have a 4th axis. the download link is on another cnc forum and I dont know if its acceptable to post links to other forums here but you can google wrapper 4th axis or similar and find it |

| Regarding Wrapping, your Haas can do this all by its little self; did you know that? You can map X, Y or Z moves onto the A axis depending on the orientation of the rotary; it is called Cylindrical Mapping, G107.
