I have a 08 VF3, running 5 axis daily, up to 5 meg programs, with high speed machining turned on, no lag whats so ever.
You have a problem with the main board, I told by the HFO tech, all the guts are on the main board nowdays. Get the HFO tech out to your shop, and have them replace the main board while it's still under warranty.

Generally the screen should refresh about five times a second or 5 Hertz during high speed execution. This is a general statement and very specific things on the display refresh at a different rate depending on the information being displayed. This rate is only for the screen display as many other things on the control are at different cycles. For instance the program execution cycle is at 1 KHz or 1000 times a second.

Yeah I don't know i had the person who sold us the machine come look at it and he said he's never seen that befor, and will look into it so if i get an answer I'll let you know.
