using VF3 probe to QC a 5.125 dia. x 5'' deep for taper

im using the probe quite often to set up and even use it in programs for various tasks.
i need to figure out how to start using it for QC.
I got a 5.125 dia.+/-.001 bore thats 5'' deep. i have to check in mach. for any kind of taper from top to very bottom. i have bore gages but cant reach very bottom.
the probe surely can probe bore and tell me something.
When it probes a bore ,where does it store the info?
Any help on using probe for QC would be great.
thanks in advance.

I'll be monitoring this one for responses! I'd love to use the Renishaw as aquasi-CMM, but I don't think it's possible to easily do what you want to do. You could use the code to turn the probe on, go up the bore, and write down the points in the Z value where it beeps. That would show you your taper. However, if there's any thing more intuitive than that, I'd love to know. I wish Haas would install some basic CMMing functions on the machine for a few grand. That'd be sweet.

I can do some basic CMM'ing with Inspection Reports from your Haas VQC for a few grand.
I'll try and post a video soon!
