    VF2

Hi all, just joined this forum I am from the uk have some questions on the vf2 vmc.
I recently went to see a demo of a vf1 which is simiarly.as my (boss) company are thinking of investing in one?

We have and I am still using Bridgeports with hedienhain controls.

Have you had any problems with spindle bearings? on the machines,

Is the programming quick to pick up, used G codes a long time ago on a Moog hydra point machines.

Is the quick program cycles operater freindly

Most of the machine we do is in mild steel, en1a and en3b
mostly with 10mm , 12, carbide and 1/4 carbide slots drill which we get from amercia.

    vf2

in my opinion the VF2 is the best perfoming and most popular machine in the line. not much bigger or more costly than the VF1 and a better value in my opinion.
should be the shortest delivery time as they make more of these than anything.
I've used them for years with no major issues.
I have from good source that the 12K inline is the best spindle value unless you need gear box.

The VF-2 actually sits in exactly the same footprint as the VF-1.

You also can't get the standard VF line with the 12k spindle. Only the SS machines have it. You can get 10k or 15k on the normal VF's

I like our VF2ss. It's a light duty machine IMO (get ready for the counter arguments).
About the spindle: ours went bad slowly over the first year. It got progressively louder but the surface finish was never really affected. You could hear it outside, it was so loud. They did change it under warranty. Fluke? I've heard of similar spindle problems on the Haas.
Again though, I like it. It does what we want it to do.

Get the probe/tool touch off package! Worth it! But use VQC to operate it, not the other thing (I forget what it's called).

Forget about the quick programming stuff they throw in. It's simple nonsense that will fit very few parts anybody makes. G code is standard and easy or a CAM system is better.
