I have the renishaw ots tool probe mounted on my table. When I want to machine a large sheet I am going to remove the probe. Question is what do i have to do when i put the tool probe back onto the table. Do i have to recalibrate it and the touch off all 20 off my tools again? Or can i just find the tool probes "new" height with the work probe that is mounted in the tool changer. If so will this update all of my tool offsets that were recorded before i removed the table probe? -Park |

| I would definately recalibrate the table probe with a known length tool. (your height and diameters may change if you don't get the probe exactly back to where it was) I would then check one of my tools to see if the tool offset changed, and if so how much. When you calibrate, it doesnt update the tools that are in the machine, but those tools should be fine, untill you need to touch off one. Then if your probe was off your tool offset would then be off as well. |
