I had the motor rewound and when i hooked it all back up,it blow the motor again, i have since found out the winding info on the motor is different to how it was orginaly done. I have been told the motor is not replaceable and comes as a motor gearbox combo

That's the policy we get from Haas here in the US. The sell reconditioned motor/transmission units. This is probably the most economical for the customer here, but prices may be prohibitive in NZ. Futhermore, if this is a vintage VF1, it is important to match the motor and transmission to your specific machine, as there were different styles, and the newer ones don't fit the oldest models. I'm talking about what Haas calls the "Plastic Mills". We collected 9 of them in our shop, but we are now starting to phase them out, because Haas will soon start reducing their parts support of the oldest models. We are scrapping some of the oldest machines and using their parts.
