sleep mode

The light on my Haas screen seems very dim. I think it's in sleep mode, how do I get it out of sleep mode?

I had the same problem with a VF-1 it wasn't in sleep mode the contrast just needed to be turned up. You can open the back and if I remember right there is a knob for contrast. That being said, a replacement screen isn't too bad about $450 I think, and really easy to do it your self. Robert

I took off the back panel, but I didn't see a knob to adjust the lighting. The machine is a little over a year old, but the warranty is up. Is the only other option to replace the screen?

I am trying to remember it was about five years ago, but I think you need a long skinny screw driver and the knob is behind the steel cover, accessed from the top of the unit. Robert

But I had to replace the monitor on a more current VF-3 because it didn't have the contrast control, it sucks but you have to be able to see right.

This was the case with the old CRT displays but I am not sure there is any way to adjust the LCD display; the machine is only a year old so it will be LCD.

There are some Parameters for changing the text color, have a look at #715 etc.

Is there a backlight on the LCD screens? Maybe its off (broken)?

I have a tech. coming in sometime this week, because of a leak on a new Haas that's only a few months old. I'll ask him to look at this one as well. I'll keep you posted.
