| I had the same problem with a VF-1 it wasn't in sleep mode the contrast just needed to be turned up. You can open the back and if I remember right there is a knob for contrast. That being said, a replacement screen isn't too bad about $450 I think, and really easy to do it your self. Robert |

| There are some Parameters for changing the text color, have a look at #715 etc.

| Is there a backlight on the LCD screens? Maybe its off (broken)?
