| I didn't take a photo, too much hair to see the slash, but I did that exact same thing within four months of getting my first VF machine. Micrograin carbide tools are very sharp.

| After years of working around sharp things like tools, table corners etc, I always get up real slow and careful-like. I'm not trying to look cool or dangerous, I just value my scalp and my back

| I bumped my head on a blunt tool I had used for an edge finder, thought that was dumb then looked at all the sharp tools and thought that was lucky. 2mins later I was cutting a piece of tube to go on the end of my squeegee I use to clean out the machine. I now stand outside of the machine, go no wear near those tools.

| I was working on swiss machines exclusively a couple of years ago and never had more cuts and dings. The space is so confined, covered in oil, and filled with sharp tools. Reaching across the spindle to get to the live tools was the worst. But at least the damage was confined to my hands. That head wound does not look good. |

| Ouch! that looks well sore! I work with solid diamond tools- look at them odd and you get cut- sharper than a razor. I thought it was my lack of concentration or something, but I called in a service engineer last week and he's got the exact same scars on his hands as me.

| did the same thing with my VF3. on the upside i have lots of hair which absorbed some of the impact as i hit my head on a brand new, never been used 3/4 carbide end mill. on the downside they still made me go and get a couple stitches in my scalp. only done it one time. so far... |

To avoid the second time I mounted a piece of clear plastic to the carousel housing so I had to bend lower than the longest tool. These days I don't go near the VF machines so I am safe.
