We have a gantry mill with Haas controller. It has ethernet. When we changed to Microsoft Server 2003 we lost our ability to access the network with it. We have a win 98 machine that we can use peer to peer with it. Has anyone done this? |

| Thanks, We paid thousands of dollars to have HAAS techs here on several occasions and none of them could figure it out. It seems that the only thing they are good at is damaging parts and trying to charge you for them. We are done with HAAS service. And HAAS machines after we replace the ones we have. We bought them because they gave us the impression that they had exceptional service. This has not been true in our case. |

| Where are you located Nor Cal with Selway? I have numerous Haas machines and have excellent service and support here in North Carolina, I have a few friends in different states and they have the same great service? Sorry for you luck sounds like you chould call Haas direct and let them know they will not stand for that! |

| We are in western Kansas. The techs come out of KC. We aren't the only ones here moving away from Haas. Another manufacurer out here is doing the same. Because of the poor and expensive service they wanted to send an in house maitenance guy to a Haas school and The distributor refused to set it up unless they bought more machines. |

We had a similar problem with our GR 408 when we purchased it. Haas service reps do not know anything about ethernet functions beyond testing the machines ethernet connector. I also heard Albert is supposed to the best at what he does unfortunatly for us, when we tried to contact him, we couldn't get a hold of him. We first tried to automatically detect the server settings but that did not work. We ended up having to get a specific ethernet address assigned to the machine and with some playing around with the other settings, we were able to download directly to the Hard Drive. the size of our programs made it imperative to get this working. As far as the peer to peer, I have never tried it but if you have an rs232 connection, I would try to utilize it. Hopefully you would be able to map a drive from your pc to the haas' rs232 connecter. hpe this helps and good luck! |
