How do I increase my TM-2 to 400 IPM?

I just found this site yesterday and think it is great.

We purchased a TM-2 about 2 years ago and really like the machine but it is really slow and because we are mostly just drilling hole the time it takes to move from hole to hole is way too long.

I have seen where people have increased their rapids from 200 IPM to 400 IPM but could not find any details on what settings need to be change in the controller.

Can someone help me with what to change?

Don't stop at the rapids. You need to increase to 6000RPM also for full efficiency. Follow this link for the rapids, and inside this thread is another link for the spindle mod.

Don't be afraid to do it....all it does is make a better machine. But DO make sure to follow instructions carefully and keep a log of your starting points. Modifying parameters incorrectly can make a mess. Good luck.

I have already increased the RPMs fro 4000 to 6000 and so far so good.

I intend to increase the IPM tomorrow.
After reading that other people have increased their speeds w/o an issues and the fact that HAAS told me that the TM-2 was capable of these higher speeds but was tuned down because it is an open machine, I feel confident that I am not go to be pushing the machine beyond its limits.
